My name is Sharon and I am a BACP Accredited Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor in private practice, based in Bookham, near Leatherhead, Epsom and Guildford. I work with adult individuals and couples, and also young people, aged 14 and upwards. I offer both short-term and longer term open-ended counselling, to suit your needs.
I hold counselling appointments on weekdays, in the daytime and evenings. I offer a FREE 30 minute consultation, without obligation, which is an opportunity for us to discuss your support needs and for you to find out more about how I practice, to help us to decide if we are happy to work together.
As part of my personal commitment to make therapy accessible, I offer a limited number of concessions for clients on a low income; if you feel this might be relevant to you, we can discuss this when we meet.
I also provide therapeutic support Counsellors in training; please feel free to contact me to discuss your support requirements.
Do you feel overwhelmed by your thoughts and feelings?
Are you feeling depressed and isolated from others?
Do you need help to make sense of what's going on for you?
I offer you support in working through your difficulties, with the aim to free you to experience life more fully and with greater self-acceptance. As an Integrative Therapist, I can work in a flexible way with you, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches to meet your needs. I can work with you in a long-term, open ended way, or within a short-term solution focused framework, dependent on your needs.
I have experience in providing counselling and psychotherapy to adult clients in both community based services and private practice. My therapeutic experience includes the setting up and running of a school-based counselling service in London, where I supervised the clinical work of a team of Children's Counsellors, supporting children aged 5 to 14. I have provided crisis counselling to teenagers and young adults referred via CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services); I have worked as a university based Student Counsellor.
I have run a private practice for a number of years, providing counselling support to both private individuals and NHS referred clients. As a Clinical Supervisor, I practice privately, working with individuals and with groups in organisation settings. I also volunteer as a clinical supervisor with the bereavement charity Cruse.
I presently enjoy working with the charity Black Minds Matter (BMMUK), as a Senior Therapist and Clinical Supervisor; I am also supporting trainee and newly qualified counsellors in my role as a Mentor.
