Sharon Green, BA(Hons) MBACP Psychotherapeutic Counsellor based in Bookham, near Leatherhead and in Guildford, near Woking
My name is Sharon and I am an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist in private practice, based in Bookham, near Leatherhead and also in Guildford. I work with adult individuals, couples and also young people. I offer both short-term and longer term open-ended counselling, to suit your needs.
I hold counselling appointments on weekdays, in the daytime and evenings, with occasional limited availability at the weekend. I offer a FREE 30 minute consultation, without obligation, where we can discuss your needs and I can explain how I practice, to help us to decide if we are happy to work together.
I am committed to making therapy accessible, so offer a small number of concessions for clients on a low income; if this feels relevant to you, we can discuss this when we meet. I also work with Counsellors in training, so please feel free to contact me.
Do you feel overwhelmed by your thoughts and feelings?
Are you feeling depressed and isolated from others?
Do you need help to make sense of what's going on for you?
I offer you support in working through your difficulties, freeing you to experience life more fully and with greater self-acceptance. As an Integrative Therapist, I can work in a flexible way with you, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches to meet your needs. The theoretical approaches I work with include Person Centred, Psychodynamic, Gestalt and Existential. I can work with you in a long-term, open ended way, or within a short-term solution focused framework, dependent on your needs.
I have experience in providing counselling and psychotherapy to adult clients in a local community based service and in a GP practice. I have spent a number of rewarding years as a volunteer Bereavement Counsellor with the national charity Cruse and as a University based Student Counsellor in Surrey. My therapeutic experience includes the setting up and running of a school-based counselling service in London, where I supervised the clinical work of a team of Children's Counsellors. I have provided crisis counselling to teenagers and young adults referred via CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services).
I presently work with clients in my private practice, where I also provide counselling through an NHS IAPT service.
I also enjoy the fulfilling experience of being a Mentor to trainee and newly qualified counsellors.
I am a registered therapist and member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
